Silicone Platinum RTV

Mold Master Solution

Attention, open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Mold Master Solution developed by the request of mold makers to aid with surface inhibition (non-cure) when using Platinum Silicone RTV’s. Various substrates can slow or stop the silicone from curing—See List Below. Mold Master Solution will cure light inhibition problems by accelerating the cure of the rubber. In extreme adverse surface conditions such as direct contact against sulfur based clay, latex, vinyl, and some resin systems, Mold Master Solution may not work. Please pre-test on small surface area if unsure.

Possible Inhibiting Substances:

  • Amines-Epoxy
  • Acetone, MEK
  • Adhesive Tapes
  • Bondo Coatings, Paints, Solvents
  • Condensation (Tin) Cure RTV-- R-1000 Systems
  • Carrier
  • Clay-Sulfur Based
  • Chlorinated Solvents
  • Composites Pre-Preg
  • Gel Coats
  • Heavy Moisture
  • Latex Gloves
  • Polyester Paints
  • Sulfur Cured-Organic Rubber
  • Some Urethanes--TDI Urethane

Directions:

This product is to be brushed or wiped onto the master model’s surface and allowed to dry for 5 minutes before pouring the platinum cure RTV. Allow mold material the proper cure time before demolding. Please contact a Technical Support for further information.
