Silicone Platinum RTV
R-2370 Clear (45A Shore)
R-2370 A/B Two-Part, Platinum RTV (Addition Cure) Clear silicone rubber designed for embedding, electrical applications, and specialty tools. R-2370 A/B is great for molds where precise parting lines need to be cut or a visual aid is needed for injecting resin, or for encapsulating parts. Applications includes include Rapid Prototype, Composite, and FX industries.

Mixing Instructions:
The base and curing agent are mixed just before using. Mix 10 parts base to 1 part curing agent by weight. Automatic mixing equipment or manual mixing may be used to combine base and curing agent. Immediately after mixing, place the material in a vacuum chamber to remove trapped air. As the vacuum is drawn, the material will expand as much as four times its original volume. Remove from vacuum chamber and pour very gently, so as not to put air into the material.
Inhibition:
Certain materials will cause inhibition or neutralization of the curing agent. These materials are sulfur containing organo-metallic salt containing compounds such as organic rubbers and many condensation cure RTV chloride solvents - amines. Inhibition may easily be determined by brushing a small quantity of R-2370 A/B over a localized area of the surface to be reproduced. If the R-2370 A/B is gummy or uncured after the curing time, then the mold surface is acting as an inhibitor.
