High Temperature Tooling Rubber (Platinum RTV)
R-2000 Silicone Systems (Platinum RTV) offer excellent high temperature resistance up to 600F. They are available in various hardnesses (Durometers), offer the best long library shelf life for storage, and have excellent mirror reproduction for molding applications.
Applications:
- Thermo‑Conductive Materials
- Spray Metalizing
- Low Melt Metal Alloys
- Composite Tools
- Spin Cast
- Powder Metallurgy
- Investment Casting-Waxes
- Fire & Heat Block Compounds
Pre‑conditioning of tools are required for peak performance: 1 hour at 300F. Pre‑heating tool for high temperature casting will require warming tool to 200F. Large deep castings may require sand casting because of hot spots and slow cooling. Talc powder is required for parting hot metal alloys. Single cavitymolds with uniform wall thickness work best to cool tool rapidly and provide longer life.
