Silwax Series
Carving Wax
Silwax-C provides artists and model-makers with an easily carveable material from which to sculpt an original or master model. It can also be used as a master pattern to produce RTV silicone molds. Silwax-C is a hard wax and requires carving or melting tools to work with. It cannot be burned out of a ceramic shell or mold.

Careful heating can melt Silwax-C. When melting, stir or mix before pouring or casting into a mold. It is recommended that this product be kept between 180F and 200F when melting. Once melted the material may be cast in a mold for future sculpting or painted onto a warm surface to fill areas that have been carved too deeply. Care must be taken never to heat the product above 350F as it contains wax and will flash and burn above this temperature.
Foundry Wax
Silwax-55 is a foundry wax formulated for use as patterns and in model making applications. In foundry process of lost wax, Silwax-55 is melted and poured into a rubber mold to build up a thin wall. Repeated cycles will build up a thin shell for plaster shell casting. Because of its excellent hot viscosity and air release, very fine detail can be reproduced without loss of definition.
