Laminating Resin (E-108 SP/ H-1922)
E-108 SP / H-1922 was developed for building laminated epoxy parts or tools. This system has a long pot life (Thin Sections) of approximately 20 minutes. Use in conjunction with an Epoxy Gelcoat. Epoxies have great adhesion to most surfaces and work well in various environments where temperature or chemical resistance is a concern.
Mix Ratio, By Weight: 100% E-108 SP
H-1922 @29%
**For Cold Weather Cures Use H-33 @48%
Color: E-108 SP- White
H-1922 - Clear/Yellow
Viscosity @75F: Light Paste--Mixed
E-108 SP 20,000cps
H-1922 2,000cps
Lap Shear Tensile: Excellent
Pot Life: 20 - 30 Minutes
Tack Free Time: 8 -12 Hours @ 75F, 3/8 Thick
Cured Time: 24 Hours @ 75F or Post Cure 1 Hour @ 125 – 150F
**Subjecting epoxy to temperature over 150f before cured will result in low heat distortion and will not be a stable material.
Mixing Instructions:
Weigh epoxy base and hardener at specified mix ratio--(Check Hardener Mix Ratio). Mix well by hand or mechanical mixer. Be sure to scrape sides and bottom or transfer to another container for a more thorough mix. Reinforcing layers of fiberglass cloth and E-108 SP laminating resin are applied until desired thickness is achieved. Allow part to cure—24 hours @ 75F--before using.
Storage:
Store and use material at room temperature or below 90F. For cold materials, warm-up materials by a hot water bath (place unmixed containers in a plastic bag first and allow 15 minutes for material to absorb heat) prior to mixing. Call for more technical advice.
