Mold Making Systems
Silicone Tin Rubber (R-1300 Series)
These two-part, Tin RTV (Condensation Cure) Silicone rubbers are designed for their exceptional performance properties— high knotty tear, elongation, and tear strength. They are user-friendly and cure over most surfaces, and are used primarily for making flexible, high strength, production molds and parts. Use molds to cast polyester, urethane, epoxy, low melt metal (350F), thermoplastics (Polyvinyl), wax, soap, plaster, and any material where a release free casting is required. RTV selection is based on Hardness (Durometer)--the lower the number the softer the rubber, the higher the stretch. Our General Purpose R-1328 A/B System is a 25A Shore Hardness and works well for majority of applications.
Features:
1) Excellent Physical Properties with High Tear Resistance
2) Low Viscosity for Easier Mix and Pour
3) Worry Free Cure
4) Available Brush-On Catalyst *Use R-1300TH B
6) Cure Accelerator *Use Rapid Set

MIXING AND CURING
Weigh appropriate amounts of Base (part A) and Catalyst (part B) and mix thoroughly until a uniform color is achieved. Most systems require 10% catalyst (by weight) and have a pot life of 45 minutes to 1 hour. Allow 16 to 24 hours before demolding. For fast cures use Rapid Set additive at 4 to 16 drops/lb (1 to 6 hour cures).
After the mold has been removed from the master, it should be left for 24 hours in order to develop its maximum mechanical strength. Please do not hesitate to call for further information.
