MA-200 Pressure Sensitive silicone Adhesive (PSA) in Pentafluoropropane is a single component designed to offset Dow Corning 355 Medical Adhesive for medical bonding applications such as non‑permanent bonding of appliances to metal, glass, fabric, silicone and organic rubbers and dry body surfaces. It contains a HCFC non-flammable solvent and is supplied as an 18% silicone adhesive solution that evaporates quickly.

Accessory**Thinner---Pentafluoropropane

Instruction For Use:

PSA is ready to use and can be applied by brushing, spraying, dipping or pouring. A thin layer, 1‑10 mils, is usually sufficient to achieve good bond. For best results, apply PSA to both substrates, allow to air dry a few minutes, and then press the two-coated surfaces together. When required, the solution can be diluted with solvents. A preferred low toxicity solvent is hexamethyldisiloxane or dichloropentafluoropropane. Due to environmental friendliness, low toxicity, irritation and sensitization properties, hexamethyldisiloxane is suggested to remove the dry PSA from skin. The dry PSA can also be removed by scrubbing with isopropyl alcohol. Commercially available adhesive removers may also be useful. Apply solvent liberally to dry PSA and wipe off with gauze or cloth.

Toxicological Information:

This material was designed to pass USP Class VI. A sample from each lot manufactured is subjected to a MEM Tissue Culture Cytotoxicity test. Additional testing is available on request. This product is manufactured under GMP guidelines CFR 21 Part 820. Users must carefully review literature for uses where adverse effects are reported for certain applications of silicone in medical devices. The user of this material must independently determine that any product incorporating this material is safe and effective.

Biocompatiability:

PSA in Pentafluoropropane is based on polydimethyl siloxane compounds known for low toxicity and low skin irritation properties. A sample of the material has been tested for primary skin irritation and was found to be non-irritating.
