Tin Silicone Foam (SRF–1000)

Attention, open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

SRF 1000 is a two-part, Tin Based, liquid silicone polymer that rapidly cures to lightweight, closed cell foam at room temperature. Its low viscosity and quick foaming time allows for easy hand mixing and increased production cycles.

SRF 1000 is engineered as compatible void filler for Tin Base rubber puppet skins (i.e., R-1310, R-1320 Animatronic Skin RTV) and as a weight reduction and vibration dampener for custom applications.

Typical Properties:
Viscosity:  Part A  5,000 cps
Appearance, Cured: White, Closed Cell
Density: 20 lb/cu3ft

Mix Ratio, By Weight:  100 A / 1 B
Pot Life: 25-40 seconds
De-Mold: 10-15 minutes

Shelf Life: 6 months
**Values listed are typical and not intended for use in specifications

Instructions:
Weigh appropriate amounts of Base and Catalyst: 100% Base (Part A) and 1% Catalyst (Part B). Quickly blend both components together and immediately pour into mold—within 15-20 seconds. Cure is typically achieved in 10-15 minutes at room temperature. The cure rate may be altered by slightly adjusting catalyst ratio. Note: Increased levels (over 1%) of Catalyst will implode part, which will deflate over night. Pre-test before using.

Safety Precautions:
Protective eyewear should be worn. Accidental eye contact may cause temporary eye discomfort. See Material Safety Data Sheet.
