Epoxy resins are selected by various applications and requirements. Special hardeners can be used for mass castings. Thick cross sections can be poured in layers to reduce heat build up when casting large tools. Epoxy can be post cured for high temperature requirements or to finish cure due to cold weather. Epoxies are heat accelerated and will become dimensionally unstable if subjected to heat above 150F before being cured properly. Epoxy will harden without fully curing, which may result in a tool that is soft and distorted when subjected to heat above 150F.

Low temperature post cure of 125F to 140 F--1 hour for each inch thickness.

For higher temperatures above 250F, Post Cure Cycle can be extended at 200F for 1 hour, then 250F for another hour, then cool to temper epoxy before subjecting to application temperatures. Please call for further information about your application.
