Silicone Primer (P-1408)
P‑1408 is a diluted solution of a reactive silicone resin in solvent, which are used to improve the adhesion of both Addition and Condensation cure silicones when bonding of RTV may be required. Possible applications include repairing molds, building-up multiple sections of RTV over prolonged periods, and bonding RTV to a surface such as wood, plastic or metal. *P-1408 is used with silicone coating D-3430SP to increase adhesion to surface coating.Type: Moisture sensitive, silicone resin in alcohol

Instructions:
Preparation: Thoroughly clean and degrease the surface with isopropyl alcohol or mineral spirits, then dry properly.
Applying: P‑1408 may be applied by brushing or spraying and it is cured by air drying for one hour at a minimum of 25% humidity.
For some surfaces multiple coats may be applied for best adhesion. Wait 30 minutes to apply second coat.
Storage: Should be kept in a closed container to avoid moisture contact during storage. For best results, use within six months.
Caution:
P‑1408 contains a blend of ethanol and methanol (flash point 5C), and it must not be used near an open flame or sparks. Adequate ventilation should be provided to remove the solvents during the air-drying operation. Avoid contact with skin or breathing of the solvent during the air-drying operation. In the event that contact with the skin occurs, an immediate and thorough washing with mild soap and water is suggested. Protective glasses should be worn, but if the primer makes contact with the eyes, rinse with water immediately, and if irritation persists, contact a physician.
